  • Background:
    • Started as 15 year old with breath work, meditating for several hours.
    • Every day at university he got by with one hour of sleep extremely quickly going into meditative state that was very efficient at restoring.
      • He had a lot of samadhi but not sati.
    • His wife was teaching sacred movement in Manitoba. And there's a whole community there. And they're related to some kind of Tibetan lineage also worked with Culadasa and did a lot of research on psychology and became very strong at methodology.

    • Enlightenment is not the end turn, you can still do dumb stuff

        • We're able to observe our minds at a very deep level while we're meditating, but we're not able to be in those states, while we're interacting socially with others.
          • I thought that you kind of could get that kind of insight, with walking meditation and always seeing your emotions from a distance, but maybe those states are not as deep or, or pure.
        • And so, some of this developmental and cleansing and stuff, it's possible that you kind of see through it and so it becomes invisible to the meditation and you can gain enlightenment without actually having to deal with it.

  • trauma

      • When trauma happens, you tend to incorporate those emotion, feeling beliefs, into your personality at a level where it's very difficult to untangle
      • Traditionally, people shut down emotionally at a certain age.
      • Although they kept craving some kind of recognition or love, when they got that it didn't update their core beliefs, and it didn't heal, the kind of gap that they had.
      • Younger generations tend to not have those same shutting down of emotions, which is causing other kinds of issues.

    • things that happen later,
      • you can process them through purification meditation.
  • There are four core emotions:
    • happy
    • sad
    • angry
    • fearful
  • But he came up with nine types of feelings.
  • And he also talks about a book, something like kindling. The apparently it's about affirmations and how they resonate with you.
